Press Release from the Office of Lt. Governor Natalie Bennett:
SAN ANDREAS – Statement from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor
Earlier today, Lieutenant Governor Natalie Bennett was injured in a shooting incident in Roxwood. While departing from a property viewing in the Roxwood area, her motorcade came under attack near Roxwood Airport. A single round struck the side of the Lieutenant Governor’s vehicle, wounding her in the chest.
Lieutenant Governor Bennett was evacuated immediately by her protective detail and transported by air to the city for emergency medical care. She is currently listed in serious but stable condition, and physicians remain optimistic she will make a full recovery.
Also injured in the incident was Mr. Donald Orange, a passenger in the vehicle and representative of Dynasty 8 property management. Mr. Orange sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and is receiving appropriate medical treatment.
The Lieutenant Governor and Mr. Orange had been in Roxwood to tour and finalize the purchase of a property that will serve as the future Lieutenant Governor’s Mansion, intended both as a private residence and as a venue for public events sponsored by the State.
The Office of the Lieutenant Governor commends the swift and decisive actions of her security detail, whose professionalism ensured both the immediate safety of the Lieutenant Governor and Mr. Orange, their rapid airlift to the city, and transfer to hospital care. Their training and response also played a critical role in the quick capture and identification of the suspect, who was armed and dangerous. During the incident, the suspect fired upon and injured multiple law enforcement officers before ultimately being subdued and taken into custody.
We are deeply grateful to the members of law enforcement and medical personnel who continue to protect and care for Lieutenant Governor Bennett, Mr. Orange, and the people of San Andreas.
Further updates on the Lieutenant Governor’s recovery will be provided as appropriate.
